Mitch Trumpp comes to professional woodworking the old fashioned way: his grandfather and father were both in the business. He founded Adventure Indoors Woodworking (captured in this video) with Chris Gorney in 2010, disassembling barns and turning them into furniture. Within a couple years he had partnered with Ryan Henrich to transform the business into Second Life Studios, now a developing architectural woodworking firm with a concentration in reclaimed wood for commercial interiors.
Second Life Studios may be the paradigm of the rising young woodworking nation - properly conversant in every social media channel, socially beneficial in reclaiming wood for higher purposes, and rooted in three generations of woodworking tradition. Plus they are media stars on HGTV's Tiny House series. Here's a look inside Second Life Studios in Kansas City, MO.
