Panel manufacturer Kustom Material Laminators (KML) has said that its textured Edgewood panel has become its flagship product. Edgewood is a laminate that looks and feels like real exotic wood grain but at a lower cost — and features a lower environmental impact.

In 2012, KML installed a 5’x18’ press in its Tacoma, Washington facility to keep up with its demand for textured panels alone.

The Edgewood collection of textured surfaces features deep grains that mimic real wood. The collection allows architects, designers, and cabinetmakers to have access to expanded options for contemporary designs with durability.

Edgewood is offered in thermally-fused melamine and matching high-pressure laminate panels. Substrates include particleboard, MDF and ultracore; the company's component department offers cut-to-size boards.

KML’s plant in Tacoma, along with its subsidiary in California produce a combined 4,000 panels daily.
