HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Hollywood Woodwork was awarded the American Express Regional Headquarters in Sunrise, Florida, in conjunction with CCI Group of Longview,Texas.
The headquarters will provide offices for most of the credit card company’s 3,000 employees from Plantation, Weston, and Miramar Florida. The 400,000+ square foot facility will consist of two glass-sided buildings connected by an atrium.
Hollywood Woodwork says the joint venture with "CCI Group melds the strengths of both firms to provide quality business casework and custom
designed furniture within the framework of a strong foundation in project management."
Hollywood Woodwork, a member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute, describes itself as an established South Florida interior millwork firm, with a rich history of work in corporate, institutional, hospitality, entertainment, retail, and multi-residential projects throughout the nation and the Caribbean.
The first building pair on the American Express campus is under construction, with completion and occupancy expected later this year. More than 14 American Express business units and a calling center will be in the building, which will serve Latin America, North America, and the Caribbean.
Through an integrated team approach, Perkins+Will is providing architectural, interior, branding, and workplace expertise to create a sustainable, state-of-the-art facility.
Perkins+Will says the building is conceived as a dialogue with the natural landscape. The globally connected work performed in the office levels reaches out, metaphorically, and ‘pulls’ the landscape upwards from the earth. These linkages, in turn, become site retaining walls, accessible walkways, and a tapestry of planted berms which include an edible garden; all leading to the main amenities level of the project. The main level is expressed as a transparent architectural ‘reveal’ or space between the site and the cantilevered office.
